You write the story:

Edward:  What you would do if you were Edward.

Book 2 Coming back and finding Bella happy with Jake.

You write it:

Book 3: When Bella visits Jacob. she leaves the first time she felt she should…  what does she tell him to finally end it?  How does it end?

Book marks

Sounds a little unusual but is such a fun idea.  I have to (want to ) create book marks that go with each of the books.  I’m supposed to have all of this done by July 7th EEK!!!!  It snuck up on me.  However I’ve been writing reflective questions ina notebook as I’ve been reading since the second time around.  So it’s not foreign to me.  However now I’m getting graded on it and these questions need to be truly thaught provoking and relative to as many readers as possible.  So if you have any suggestions please post them.  Don’t be shy or feel like you’re manipulating the sight.  I love hearing what you all think, that’s why I’m doing this.  Please SHARE SHARE SHARE.

p.s. You might think that something is insignificant or that others already know how you feel, but if you haven’t posted it yet please do.

Thanks

Music

Okay y’all know I’ve been working to get these cd’s together for a while now.  New music keeps coming out or I’ll find and older song and it fits better than another, or I have more than one I want.  The last time I read through them I wrote the songs as I read.  I’m rereading them with my husband and writing them as I go, some are the same, some are changing.  I’d love any favorites added if you can share a connections that would be helpful.  Sometimes it’s one line or scene, sometimes it’s the feel of a chapter.  Like when Jasper is talking about Maria in chapter 13 of Eclipse.  I like peekaboo by souxie and the banchees, just because of the stealthy meanouvers of vampires to attach and he talks about Maria and ends with Alice, who of course doesn’t attach, which he was expecting.  It’s interesting how our experience limits our view sometimes, until we allow ourselves to see what’s right in front of us.

Anyway I can’t guarantee they’ll be included, but I’m pretty openminded.  And everyone will get copies of course. :) or can come over and download them onto their ipods :) .

The author : Tamora Pierce

An amazing author of fantasy has quite a bit to say about the genre of fantasy. In an article for the School Library Journal she shares her take on it:

She says “fantasy creates hope and optimism in readers… the kind that carries over into everyday life and colors the way readers perceive things around them”.

Do you agree and if so how does twilight fit into the picture?

I know I’ve read some blogs (thanks to rubberduckie89) of some young men who have had their perspectives and attitudes influenced by Edward and feel more “shivalrous” and attentive to their love interests.

You know how it’s influenced me.  So let me know what you think.

Why do we re-read “twilight”

I’m wondering why we re-read not only the Twilight series but other books as well if you want to send in some example and share the comparisons that would be great.

I know I’ve read Hamlet or at least parts of it more times than I can count.  I’m drawn to Hamlet’s dilema of wanted to be obedient to his father yet being filled with self-doubt to the point of creating his own solution for vengence against the king.  Then so much sorrow comes into his life because he didn’t follow his father’s counsel.  I drawn to the depth of his love story with Ophelia.  Does she kill herself because her father is dead or because Hamlet is lost to her or because he killed her father or all of the above.  What termoil she must have been in and what complex parallel’s do we see in our own relationships.  The list goes on.  I must say.  The Mel Gibson movie came out the same year I studied it in high school.  ‘91.  Boy am I aging myself.  And eventhough it gave lines to different people and reaaranged scenes from the book, it was a wonderful adaption of a very complex story.  A  Midsummer Nights dream is so hysterical and syterical my husband thinks I’m a freak when I bust into laughter.  I think honestly I like reading about the manipulation and the gulability of the characters.  Makes me not feel so vulnerable myself (at least that’s never happened to me).

Jane Eyre I think was drawn to this forgotten, mistreated little girl and how all she wanted  was love and finally found it in the most unlikely of places.  What hope for the future. I’ve alread shared some parallel’s I feel connected with twilight all ready.

I’m very interested in the parallel’s you find with the characters in this series and the story lines that you like to re-read and why.  If you aren’t sure then maybe just the writing process will help you on your own journey towards self discovery.

If there are other books or charcters lines that you love to re-read I’d be interested in hearing about them as well.

Reading is such a powerful tool of expression.  Sometimes we take for granted that a part of us has been touched and changed.  Writing about it can help us really understand where we’re at now or where we’re going and that maybe things aren’t as they seem, for better or worse.

Can you be in love with more than one person at a time?

Have you ever felt like you were in love with more than one person at a time?

What did you do?

How did you choose one over the other?

What if you’re a guy

If you’re a guy: Have you ever been in Jacob’s shoes?

#1 How did you feel?

#2 What did you do?

#3 How’d she respond?

I’m not sexist :)

I know that members of the opposite sex have been in the same situation.  How do you feel about a girl rejecting a guy and a guy rejecting a girl?

Is the guy a whimp or a loser…?  Is the girl considered playing hard to get?  Let me know what you think?

“He was so close, I could feel his warm breath. I reached up casually, to take his hand away and free my face, but wound my fingers through his so that I wouldn’t hurt his feelings.”

Does anyone else have a problem with this?  I would love some feed back.

What would you do if you were Bella and Jake took your face into his hands?….  I don’t think anyone is ignorant of the first two books, the second one in particular demonstrates how close they were to each other.  She knows how strongly he feels for her.

#1What would you do next and why?

#2 How do you think you would feel if your fiance were in this same situation with someone that’s in love with him?   Would this reflection cause you to change your decision?  If so what would you do?
